Contract Award — Counter-UAS

December, 2023 — Counter Uncrewed Aerial Systems Concept Development Phase 1

Agile EM was awarded an Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS) Phase 1 contract in response to the Counter Uncrewed Aerial Systems (CUAS) Concept Development competition.

Our project focusses on developing a cognitive EW solution for countering drone swarms.

Contract Award — DRDC IDEaS

May, 2023 — IDEaS Component 1a Project on Cognitive Multi-Function Antenna Arrays

Agile EM was awarded an Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS) Phase 1a contract in response to the "Loud and clear — ASsured naval radio communications in complex electromagnetic environments" challenge.

Our project focusses on developing cognitive MF systems using Deep Learning on an FPGA, allowing signal classification at the edge with acccuracies greater than 98 %.

Contract Award — EW Engineering Services

October, 2022 — Supporting Counter-RCIED Jammer Services with DRDC Ottawa

Agile EM was awarded a 2 year contract with 3 years as options, to support Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) and the Canadian Joint Operations Command (CJOC) through the provision of Electronic Warfare (EW) engineering services. The contract provides research, design, and test solutions for counter-Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) Electronic Attack (EA) systems.

Webinar — Cognitive EW

September, 2022 — AOC Webinar on Cognitive Electronic Warfare and Reinforcement Learning

Cognitive Electronic Warfare (EW) systems are of critical importance to the future of EW, but despite this the underlying technologies are poorly understood. The goal of this webinar is to outline the architecture of modern cognitive EW systems, and the relevant technologies. Specifically, how Reinforcement Learning works, using a variety of mechanisms to develop a sense, act, reward cycle to explore the solutions space. The webinar will conclude with a discussion of how reinforcement learning would be applied in the context of a missile engagement, requiring a cognitive system to deal with novel threats.

This and numerous other webinars by Kyle Davidson can be found on the AOC webpage.

Contract Award — DRDC IDEaS

April, 2022 — IDEaS Component 1a Project on Multi-Function Antenna Arrays

Agile EM was awarded an Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS) Phase 1a contract in response to the "High Bandwidth, Low Profile – Next Generation Point-to-Point Communication Solutions for the Field" challenge.

Our successfully executed project demonstrated designed and manufactured an ultrawideband Digital Beam Forming antenna array. The system was designed with a softwared defined transceiver, able to peform communications, electronic support, and jamming through a common RF aperture.

Contract Award — DRDC IDEaS

IDEaS Component 1a Project on Semantic Data Fusion

Agile EM was awarded an Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS) Phase 1a contract in response to the "Making Data Make Sense: Real-time data analysis for rapid decision making" challenge.

Our successfully executed project demonstrated the ability of unsupervised machine learning systems to perform semantic data fusion across a range of remote sensing systems.
